Recently, I announced changes to Daily Deviations in this journal and I'm happy to say that the response has been favorable. To review, we have made the following changes:
a> The "3-month rule" is now the "6-month rule" meaning an artist cannot receive another DD if they have had one in the last 6 months.
b> Daily Deviation selectors are limited to a maximum of one selection per day. This has been put in place to focus on quality vs quantity.
The hard-coding of these new guidelines is now in place (special thanks to $ZombieCoder for that

I'd like to start my first Vector CR update of my new term by thanking `DomiSM for the fantastic term and time she's given to the vector galleries. She's an asset to the community, not just the vector community. Please drop by her page and give her a scalable hug, because she's simply fabulous!

a series of articles about the entire History of Art.

The articles have been written by various Community Volunteers,
Senior Members, Groups and
the Community itself.

WHO IS COORDINATING THIS?
The Art History Project was devised by the Director of #communityrelations, $Moonbeam13.
Two of her Community Volunteer Mentors, ^DistortedSmile and `ScENeYmE became the project leads and started collecting the articles.
^DistortedSmile and her helpers ^deshrubber, ^KasumiCR, ^Lyricanna and `fritsvandersloot are still collecting these articles and encouraging more and more involvement in the Project.

Project Educate: Typography TerminologyTypography Terminology
This article is here to highlight some of the most important terms when it comes to working with Typography. The terminology in this article is very basic, but it's not only for beginners! Knowing the proper terms for whatever you do avoids confusion and makes it easier for people to be on the same line of thought.
Please note: these terms all refer to the technical work with Typography. They do not cover the Anatomy of Typefaces (f.e. baseline, x-height or serif) or stylistic elements used in Typography (f.e. page layout or white space).
Typeface
A Typeface is the compilation of a set of characters, which share a certain appearance. There are stylistic elements to each Typeface that also find relation to their classification.

I know, the galleries can be pretty confusing! You can submit Typography to both digital and traditional galleries. Of course, this depends on how you created the work. If you scan a piece, it does not automatically make it digital. And if you draw a part of it, but add elements on a computer to it, it is no longer traditional (Technically it would be Mixed Media, but everything with a typographic content is Typography. Mixed Media however, if it implied use of a graphic program to add to the work, is ALWAYS Digital Art.)

Earlier this week I was stalking a photography forum (because it's where all the cool kids are) and I noticed somebody claiming to be a fairly professional photographer angling for information on the best mega-pixels D-SLR camera they could get in order to stabilise their images. Well anybody who knows even a tiny inkling about Photography will very quickly jump on that as most of us know full well that no matter how many megapixels you've got, they aren't worth a thing without a steady hand or more importantly a good sturdy tripod. I never was a firm believer in a tripod and even now, I rarely use it. However I use any number of things to stabilise myself when shooting whether that involves lying in a bed of flowers, resting against a wall or indeed using the nearest person (which I don't recommend - people sway!)
