SEPTEMBER HOLIDAYS, AWARENESS AND EVENTS
:iconnewsboyplz: wdwparksgal.deviantart.com/jou… ~The News Article

September is the ninth month in the Julian and Gregorian Calendars, as well as being one of four months with a length of 30 days. :sing:"Thirty Days, has September, April, June and November…….." :music: Without the song I won't remember.......
September in the Southern Hemisphere is the seasonal equivalent of March in the Northern Hemisphere. In the North, the meteorological Autumn is the first of September, whereas south of the Equator it is Spring.

In Latin, septem means "seven" and septimus means "seventh"; September was, in fact, the seventh month of the Roman Calendar until 153 BC when the first month changed from Kalendas Martius (March) to Kalendas Januarius (January). It is also the seventh month of the Astrological calendar, which begins with March/Mars/Aries. The full-moon can be viewed on the 12th.

September begins on the same day of the week as December every year, because there are 91-days separating September and December, which is a multiple of seven. No other month ends on the same day of the week as September in any year.

North of the Equator, September, or close to it, is the start of the Academic Year. The Astrological Signs are: Virgo: August 23 - September 22, Libra: September 23 - October 22. The Birthstone is Sapphire (a lovely color of blue) and the flowers are three types, Forget-me-Not, Morning Glory and the Aster. Ironically, my youngest sister was born in September and her very favorite flower as a child was the Morning Glory. I didn't find out until much later in life that The Morning Glory was, indeed, a flower of September.
