hello

To become a Community Volunteer you must submit an application via the "Apply Now" button. Appear a form which you must fill with your basic information, the area (or Chats and Forums Gallery) that you would like moderate and answer the questions :). In this journal you can see the list of vacancies (just below the "Apply Now" button), so you can know which position is open and apply for any of these, the your greatest interest. Another thing to take into consideration is that you must be 18 years or older to apply for a CV position. This is because already in the age of make your own legal procedures, because the selected must sign a confidentiality agreement and also because at that age the person has a degree of maturity that allows you to understand the great responsibility that represent being a Volunteer in dA.

Many users, who are not yet Volunteers, spend their free time and energy to help others with tutorials of artistic help and about dA, with artistic resources, tips and guides as well as Projects, Contests and special activities, with the aim of educate and entertain the Community =D (Big Grin). You can make a difference in dA, without being a volunteer, with your contributions to benefit the community Nod.

But if you would like to be a Community Volunteer I invite you to start with your contributions now and not wait to be a Volunteer to start. This is one of the tips offered by the current CVs :) (Smile). For some time I am following this advice and I invite you to do the same ^^. You can show that you truly enjoy helping others unselfishly with your knowledge, your artistic talent and your charisma ^^. Your contributions will be noticed and one day you too can be a Volunteer ^^.

Another tip: Another way to help the community, in addition to the contributions mentioned above, is to know to the CV that oversees the area of your interest (Gallery or Chats and Forums) to offer your support and collaboration in their projects and special activities if possible. It also allows that they may know you and your contributions, they can know that you are a person with community spirit and you probably have the opportunity to be recommended by a CV for a position as CV, at the time you submit your application.

If you go to start now your contributions to the community I recommend reading two important guides (That appear in this journal), written by two former Volunteers and two guides more additional:

How to be a guiding light and shining example by RockstarVanity
So you Want to be a CV by Thiefoworld
How to Treat People on DA
Being an inspiration within the community

"This is because in the age of 18, you make your own legal procedures, because the selected must sign a confidentiality agreement and also at that age the person has a degree of maturity that allows you to understand the great responsibility that represents being a volunteer in dA." Revised the statement a bit to meet standard English guidelines.

That's why I have to be 18 in order to be a CV! :XD: I think I still have some immaturity left in my brain.

I think I must be careful with some things I say lol. Sorry if it offended you. I think what I was trying to say is that when you are already over 18 years old, you be a person certainly more responsible  with more experiences and knowledges that enable you to understand the responsibility that comes with being a Volunteer. Although I think the age of 18 is more required for legal reasons.

No I'm not offended. I just wanted to know the reason why I have to be 18 when I sign up to be a CV, and you gave me that reason. :)

Now we are two. I would also like to be a Volunteer =D. Like you, I have sent my application and I am waiting for an answer :).

What matters is not how much time you have with your account on dA, if no all you do to help the community during that time. Many users, who are not yet Volunteers, spend their free time and energy to help others with tutorials of artistic help and about dA, with artistic resources, tips and guides as well as Projects, Contests and special activities, with the aim of educate and entertain the Community =D. Out of curiosity, What is the Gallery of your interest? Or you is more interested in the Chats and Forums?. My favorite gallery is Fan Art =D

My favorite gallery is fan art too :D and I don't have anything in particular, I'd like to help out wherever they need me.
And yeah what you said is a great idea, I'll start helping out a bit now. :aww:
The truth is I didn't think people would pau much attention to my tutorials cause I'm new and kind of an amateur and well, since I'm not an official volunteer, they might be like "who does she think she is" when I try to help when no one specifically asked for my help.
But I guess it doesn't matter, no harm in trying! :aww:

Fan Art too? that good!! =D.

I understand perfectly. It is normal to not be a person so well known in your first days on deviantART and can be difficult to get the attention of others. To all of us the same thing happens. When I come to dA by first time, I thought I would have a lot of comments on my account but it was the opposite, and the reason is that no one knew me. Soon I understood that the best way to be known and get involved in dA is to interact with other artists and participate in groups. To many artists like to receive Favourites and Comments (especially this) in his works, sometimes with constructive criticisms, to know that others love their art and reciprocate in the same way to these people (also with Favs and comments). Groups are a great way to meet other artists and expose your art. There are many groups dedicated to different types of visual art (For example, there exclusive groups for Traditional Artists) and writing (Literature). There are also grupos dedicated to accept tutorials of artistic help, about deviantART and all kinds of drawing resources.

In one of these groups, Hispanic, I started my contributions as a member (Later I became an administrator of the group), which at first were not so well known but eventually I managed to be seen by more users. In dA many users that appreciate the tutorials and read to learn from them, also there are many users who make tutorials to help others and has the desired attention, without being an official Volunteer. If you revise the deviantART browser you'll be surprised by the amount of tutorials that you can find and the number of people give a comment or fave in them. So does art :). The key is to give adequate exposure to your art and your tutorials, and groups are very useful for this ^^.

Do not hesitate to create a tutorial or guide, to help others, just because you are not an official Volunteer. As I said earlier, many users do tutorials and are not Volunteers. They make these materials because they like to help others selflessly ^^. Even the recent CVs is became in CVs by all the contributions they made to the community. A good CV is characterized by its community spirit, for the generous help they give to others, and by his charisma, rather than by the symbol .

If you go to start your contributions to the community I recommend reading two important guides (That appear in this journal), written by two former Volunteers and two guides more additional:

I understand what is expected to receive  the desired response of consideration.

I know you think it's unfair but I think you can learn to be more patient. Moonbeam13 addition, responsible for electing new CVs, need to know to your applicants, know  that do they for the community (and not) what experiene level have your applicants in making contributions (Fan Art Features, Tutorials about of dA and of art, Articles of interest about of the gallery that this person wants to supervise like a CV. Also Projects, contests and special activities aimed to educate and entertain the community, among other things) to the Community as well as their knowledge in the artistic field and dA category that he / she wants to supervise as a CV. Based on all these aspects, Danielle (Moonbeam13) will decide who qualifies for a particular CV position.

An applicant for CV should also know, understand and put into practice the fundamental values of Community Relations: FAQ #84: What are the Core Values of the Community Relations Department?

And regarding to expected to be considered, this must be so because Community Relations receives many applications of many people who want to be a CV, but not for the same reason: Some want to be CV because they like helping the community and have made many contributions, others just want to be a CV by the symbol or for popularity. With so many applications for Danielle is difficult (if not impossible) to respond to everyone, so few are considered. I understand that it should not be easy to have this task: receiving hundreds of requests from people who want to be CV, but the hardest part is that she can not accept everyone and should choose not to respond to a certain number of people. But I think she does not like to disappoint so many people, besides having to deal with people who complain about not being considered or chosen (I must admit I am one of those people and I'm not proud of it), by not have the required age for CV, among other things. And to that is add his job as Administrator of dA. So for her is not easy being the Director of Community Relations, but she makes a great effort to make the team remains in place and that the community can have great leaders that help users in their artistic growth. The work of Danielle and her team is worthy of admiration .

I feel the long answer but I wanted to say this. I'm not mad at you. And if you are one of those people who like helping the community and have made many contributions, I think you can even have the opportunity to be considered and chosen for a CV position. I applied several times to be a CV and although I have not been chosen yet I have not given up, I'm helping the community with much motivation and of way disinterested ^^. And I recommend you do the same: do not give up and continue with the great work you're doing, and even if you have not started your contributions I recommend starting already. No need to wait to be a CV to start helping to the community =D.

Depends on for which one. If it is game related, as there is game development whih has that category, it would go to that particular CV. I see they don't have a particular CV for that right now, and Desogn and Interface is the alpha category for that, so you would suggest it to that respective CV.

If it is cartoons and comics related, it would go to the cartoons and comics related CV.

You can always suggest to Moonbeam13 if there is no specific CV looking after a category.
