Daily DeviationsRecently, I announced changes to Daily Deviations in this journal and I'm happy to say that the response has been favorable. To review, we have made the following changes:a> The "3-month rule" is now the "6-month rule" meaning an artist cannot receive another DD if they have had one in the last 6 months.b> Daily Deviation selectors are limited to a maximum of one selection per day. This has been put in place to focus on quality vs quantity. The hard-coding of these new guidelines is now in place (special thanks to $ZombieCoder for that ). These changes are part of an ongoing initiative to better our Dai

Thank You!I'd like to take a moment to issue a very important "THANK YOU" to YOU! The deviantART Community. On the heels of our 12th Birthday, I've looked back at the projects that my team have undertaken and realized that in the last year, especially, the deviantART community has stepped up and helped to make projects like #projecteducate and #ArtHistoryProject successful. Without your contributions, interest, faves, feedback and participation, projects like these would go no where. I'm looking forward to more community interaction and participation projects and am always open to your feedback regarding projects or endeavors you'd li
New Gallery Category: StereoscopyGreat News Everyone! We have a very shiny brand spanking new...Stereoscopy Category!Click here to submit some stereo artNow all you Stereoscopic 3D fans (that's the 3D that pops in/out of the screen, not the computer animation one) can submit and browse stereo work from one cohesive category!Confused? Here’s a quick FAQ:What is Stereoscopy?Stereoscopy, commonly known as '3-D' is a method of creating an image which creates an illusion of depth. Seniority Announcement - June 2012This article marks the latest announcements detailing the latest additions to the dizzy height of Senior members in our community. With just over 900 deviants holding the highly saught after ` -- it's clearly a moment that deserves recognition.:faq29:So what does it take to become a Senior? That's a question many have asked and have never really been able to get a straight answer on. Some have gained Seniority as a thank you for their time spent as a Volunteer, or to recognise their contribution to a particular project or collaborative action. Some have gained Seniority because of their community spirit, providing help and assistance to many other deviants and taking time out to promote the work of others in the community. Some people have received Seniority because of their artistic endevours, having a positive influence on their peers by sharing resources, providing constructive criticism and by being a voice t

News from the Chats and Forums8. News from the Galleries1. Reflections It never ceases to amaze me how quickly a year can fly by. I've made it a practice over the years to sit back and reflect on the year, what went well, what didn't and where I'd like to see the new year go. A year can bring a lot of lessons and without reflection it's hard to ensure that you've taken away everything important from it. I apply this personally and to deviantART and it's that time again A couple of fun highlights: I got to sit next to Felicia Day and help conduct our interview with her at SXSW. I'm a pretty big fan so this was very cool. Our presence at SXSW was also a v
Presenting: Community VolunteersA BRIEF OVERVIEWOver the years, we've been proud to offer the opportunity to volunteer with deviantART. We believe that our volunteers play a crucial role in helping our community develop and grow in positive ways. So you want to be a CV...Sometimes I like to wander through the #communityrelations group, and I always come across comments from people so willing to become volunteers, (and a lot of comments from `phoenixleo ._.) specifically in the The Community Relations Team journal, where the opening positions are listed. To those people: take this journal just as a personal opinion coming from a former volunteer, who currently is just a regular deviant (as in: non-admin of any sort) like you, from someone who, like you, love the community and is willing to contribute and give back the way he can:I think is great that people is so enthusiastic and passionate about volunteering, it's something that shows. People constantly say "I so would love to help!", "I can't wait to be 18 to apply!", "I so want to be on the team!", there are some who list the complete CR roster in their personal profiles, who openly s
